Mens Matchplay Championships

Registration:
Players must enter the qualifying round on Saturday 22nd February, your handicap index for the
qualifying round will be the division you play the entire Championship.
Qualifying round is a gross score, seedings for the draw will be determined by where you finish in the qualifying round.
The top 16 qualifiers in each division will play for the respective Championship in their division. First round losers in the Championship will go into the Plate competition for the 8th of March.
Qualifiers 17 to 32 will play in the Bowl competition. First round losers in the bowl competition are eliminated

Eligibility
To be eligible to play you must be a full Male 18-hole full playing member including aged categories. (Not eligible are Associate, 9 hole, and Sunday Membership categories.)

Results and Draws
Matchplay competitions can now be coordinated in dot golf with results and draws published through the website.
The draw will be published by Sunday 23rd February. The draw will be able to be seen online on our website and a link will be emailed out.
All names will be entered into the start sheet based on the matchplay draw, if you are unable to play your match at the posted time you can arrange to play it at a different day/time if you both agree. If you cannot find a mutual time the default match schedule is the tee time that has been allocated. Any disputes need to be referred to the committee.

Use of Carts
In line with BOP Golf carts can only be used for members over 50 or with a medical certificate.
Results reporting
Please report to the office immediately at the conclusion of your match with your results so the live draw can be updated.
There are no ties, ties are to be decided by sudden death play off from hole 1 onwards until a winner is established.
Finals
Finals will be played on Saturday the 21st and at the tee time allocated.
Division 1, 2, & 3 are playing a 36-hole final. First 18 holes will commence at 8am, match to resume at approximately midday.
Division 4 is an 18-hole final.
In the event of final being tied at the conclusion of the 36 holes, a sudden death playoff will be held, with the 1st and 18th holes being played alternately until the match has been won outright by a competitor.
Plate or Bowl finals will continue with sudden death play off from the 1st hole if the match is tied after 18 holes. Third and Fourth play off matches will be declared as halved if still tied at the conclusion of 18 holes, and both players declared tied for 3rd
Course closures
If any scheduled dates are lost due to a course closure, we have one reserve day available. If more than one scheduled date is lost due to courser closure, then two matches will be played the following Saturday with first match starting with an early tee before 8.30am and the subsequent match according to the draw starting after 12pm.
