Kia ora kotou,

It was great to see so many members at the presentation of the clubhouse concept plans.  The consultation process starts with the player groups next week with Lynda Smith presenting to each of those groups.  The presentation will be on the clubhouse only. The times of these presentations are as follows:

Tuesday December 17th 2:00pm - Ladies 18 Hole Group

Wednesday December 18th 2:30pm - Vets Group

Thursday December 19th 12:30pm 9 Holer Group

Saturday December 21st 4:30pm Saturday Group

Nathan, his crew, and the volunteers have done a great job in not only prepping the fairway for the laying of the couch stolons but also getting them down.  The rain we had yesterday will help and the warm weather we are having is creating great growing conditions.

The new Ventrac with mowing deck is proving a hit and is making the job easier for the greenkeeping team and we can announce that we have a name for it.  From now on we have Vinnie the Ventrac and that is thanks to Hugh Clark.  Well done Hugh, $25 will be appearing on your house account shortly!

As we wind down into Christmas, it has been great to see the number of people playing in each of the Christmas tournaments and a number of tables will be full of Christmas hams and leg of lamb in the coming weeks.  we have also seen a number of different groups using the clubhouse for their events showing us that the club and clubhouse is an integral part of the Omokoroa community.

This week we were to play Canadian Foursomes followed by our luncheon.  The weather was wet, wet, wet and only five brave souls went out to play.  Well done Debbie, Bev, Margaret, Robin and Dianne.   The luncheon was delicious as always - Tina and Conrad did an excellent job.  Our volunteer elf and fairy did a great job handing out Christmas mince pies while we were socialising.  Thank you Beryl and Jan.  Everyone who attended received a present from Santa.  A most enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Spotlight on Services to Omokoroa Golf Club

John Leek
John has been a member here for many years, being very busy with his business, Omokoroa Transport. John rarely has the time to play, however since purchasing his business from Ian Blunt another great contributor to our club John has assisted the club on numerous occasions. Delivering topsoil and clay, concrete slabs for bridges also leaving diggers and bulldozers on site at no cost, to carry out projects around the course. We are truly grateful for all his contributions over the years for his dedication to the community and our golf club.

Club Hamper Day: Big thank you to Daryl and Sue Muir for a great day with full fields. Congratulations to Tom Barrett for his hole in one - amazing shot. The course is in great condition and thank you to all the staff and volunteers.

Great effort by all the Volunteers led by Nathan and his team for the work on the number 2 fairway putting in the stolons. Special thank you to Mrs Moleta for her yummy lemon cakes.

Vets hamper was a lovely day with great prizes, well done to Ian and his team. Superb effort.

What a fun twilight, playing a string ball tournament over 9 holes. lots of fun and a whole in one (made possible by the string) thanks to Kerry and Santas helpers behind the bar that made it extra special.
