Major Roadworks

A courtsey to let you know that there are major roadworks planned for the area tomorrow and therefore you should allow extra time to arrive at golf tomorrow.

The Rock’n’roll evening turned into a great night.  Tina & Conrad provided a great dinner then from the first song Trevor and his girls got the clubhouse rocking the whole night.  Great songs with the 60 plus members and visitors enjoying the entertainment.  When the last set was played there was nobody left seated and even the bar staff were on the dance floor.   Thank you to all those that helped with the evening including the help with the stage set up and knock down.

The Christmas Tournament is on this Saturday with both morning and afternoon fields, with the tee’s fully booked it will be a great day.   Draw your own cards and pay at the office before you start.

The next event is the New Years Eve Tournament.  This year we have set up a new booking system.  There are two ways to book into the field.

  1. Go to the Event Calendar on the club website.  Locate the New Year Eve Tournament on the 31st Dec.  Click on “Reserve” and it will open the booking page for you to enter the event and fill out your details.  You can add who you wish to play with and they will also need to register.
  2. You will see on the Clubrooms Tables the event information stands.  On the rear is a QR code.  If you scan this QR code with your phone’s camera it will automatically take you to the booking page for you to enter.  Very quick and simple.  You can also scan the QR code below.

This year the event is being sponsored by You Travel in Bethlehem, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome them on board for this event.  With our “Foursomes with a Twist” format it will be a fun day for all with great prizes.

Summer Golf is here, great spot under the trees for the ladies waiting in the shade on the 4th hole.

This week we played Round 3 of the Summer Cup.

With no power at the clubrooms, we were unable to enter our cards, but looking through them there were some very good scores.  Stableford points were in the 20's for most of the field.

Next week is our Christmas luncheon after we play Canadian Foursomes.

Presidents Message
John 'Swampy' Marsh

Congratulations to Anya Apanui. Anya has been chosen to play for the BOP team in the inter-provincial championships.

Our Green staff led by Nathan, and our volunteers KD and Colin have been putting in the hours prepping the Number 2 fairway for Cooch sowing. If you are available Monday to help, report to the green shed at 9 am, even if you can only do an hour or so. Many hands make light work. If wet on Monday we will sow on Tuesday.

With the festive season arriving quickly please repair your pitch marks. Cooch Grass requires sand to be placed in divot holes for repairs and these will be arriving soon. Once set up we will require everyone to repair divots by replacing them with sand to help the ground recover. we have several tournaments coming up and we want the course to be in great shape.

Hope, you all have a great Christmas Hamper, please play ready golf and keep up with the four in front of you.

Happy Golfing

5 clubs proved a challenge for some and for others perhaps you should reconcider now much money you spend on those 15 clubs in your bag clearly some are best left in the garage.

Next week will be our second themed night with a Red and Green theme, our spot prizes will be given by PaR NZ for the best dressed.  So get those outfits ready. We will also have live music after golf by Patrick Hawkins, so make a night of it and bring the family. Make sure you book your dinner.
