Draft Course Masterplan Presentations

Many of you have attended one of the presentations from Phil Tataurangi this week.  It’s great to have been able to share some of our hard work, and I feel they have been very well received.

Please see below links to the following:

The Draft Masterplan is a diagram of the course changes.  This should be read in conjunction with the Masterplan Information document, which explains the key themes, answers some of the frequently asked questions, and also includes a brief hole by hole description.

It is important we hear what our members think, so there is a link below to a feedback form.  This link will be open until Sunday 29 SEP.

The Course Advisory Group will then consider the feedback to help inform the final plan, which will be presented to members later in the year.

Clubhouse Renovation

The CRC (Clubhouse Renovation Committee) has been working hard on plans to give our tired old building a much-needed zip.  We have a concept plan, and are carefully considering the options.

To assist in the process, we would love to hear from any members who are, or have been, or know of a qualified structural engineer that may be able to offer some advice.  If you have any suggestions, or are willing to help please let me know.

The start sheet for the Mexted and Jack Turner Trophies opens on Thursday 19th September.  You can book to play in your own fours or we will enter your name off the sheets in the locker rooms.  We will draw your partner on the day.

The new waste land between the 15th and 16th holes has now been Red Staked as a penalty area.  This is covered by Rule 17 “Penalty Areas”.  You have 4 options:

  1. You can play the ball as it lies.  No Penalty

If you decide to take penalty relief:

  1. Take stroke and distance from a relief area based on where the previous stroke was made.
  2. Take back on the line relief by dropping a ball outside the penalty area keeping the point where the ball crossed into the penalty area between the hole and the spot where the ball is dropped (no limit on how far back the ball may be dropped).  The spot on the line where the ball first touches the ground when dropped creates a relief area that is one club length in any direction no closer to the hole.
  3. Take lateral relief.  The reference point is where the ball crossed into the penalty area and a ball must be dropped in, and played, from the two club length relief area, no nearer to the hole from where the ball crossed into the penalty area.

The same options are available for a lost ball, when it is known or virtually certain that the ball came to rest in the penalty area, the player may choose which option to take.

We now have a Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Policy in place for the Club.  This has been passed by the Board and is now available to view in both the Ladies and Mens locker rooms and the Notice Board by the Starters Office.  The office also has a copy.  Please take the time to read it.
