Managers Message
Marcus Niles

Sadly, I  I have resigned from my role here at the club.

Over my three years here I feel the club has really started to move forward and I believe there are exciting times ahead.  I have confidence our club has a strong future, and in the next few years the plans and development with transform OGC into an amazing facility for the community, while maintaining the core values of our club.  Although that means change (scary word for some!) for some aspects of the business, as long as we create a clear vision and shoot for it, the club can achieve some pretty cool things and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

There have been so many people who have supported and helped me thru my time here, and that is very much appreciated.  I won’t name any names, you know who you are.  We wouldn’t have achieved what we have without you.

I’m still around for a couple of months, so you haven’t got rid of me yet.  We are working hard to find a superstar to continue the momentum and take us to the next level!

We have the combined Jack turner and Mexted Trophies to be played for on the 29th September.  These are both Mens, Ladies and Mixed events on a stableford format.  They are both Mens and Ladies individual stableford and also both Mixed, Mens and Ladies Teams, drawn partners.

These are open to all members.  It will be a shotgun start at 1 pm with a prize giving afterwards.  These are two iconic trophies for the Omokoroa Golf Club and I would love to see a large field for a great day and evening, the first evening of daylight saving.

It is also great to see that You Travel in Bethlehem have stepped up to provide sponsorship for this event.

Please put this date in your calendar and as we get closer I will provide more details and the entry sheet will be in the locker rooms.

Please also circle your diary for the upcoming maintenance week.  The course will be closed from the 2nd through to the 5th of September.  During this period we require volunteers for help with coring of green surrounds and tees, a clean up around the clubhouse and Colin has some trees to come down.  We will call for volunteers next week.
