Managers Message

What wonderful weather we have been blessed with lately!  A few niggly frosts, but that’s a small price to pay for such beautiful conditions.   I hope you are all enjoying the course presentation at the moment.  We are certainly getting very positive feedback from visitors, which is a credit to Nathan and his team.

Sundays
Traditionally a quiet day, Sundays have taken off and is now one of our busiest days of the week.  In order to fit everyone in, we have made a couple of changes to the way we manage Sunday bookings.
We have extended the tee slots to 8 mins.
Also, we encourage people to fill slots as much as possible.
If we need to open up more space, we may move your booking to make up a 4.  If your booking is moved, you will receive an email notification.  Please check your time regularly in case it has been altered.

Most important – please book in, and stick to your tee time.  Some of the congestion issues are caused by people jumping in without a tee time.

Staff Vacancy
We are on the lookout for someone to work in the shop on Sundays.  Ideally someone who can be left as sole charge and has some golf knowledge.  Contact me if you are interested or know someone who might be suitable.

Bar Manager's Message
Matthew Farrell

Since starting behind the bar in March, I have been made to feel most welcome both by members and staff that I knew beforehand, and also many new faces and names (and loyalty numbers!) for me. Thank you.

We have some new staff behind the bar. Your team now consists of myself on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and perhaps the odd other day - along with Sharon, Angela, Milla, and Talia through the week as well as Rachel keeping her hand in regularly.

We recently had a blind taste tasting with the Tuesday ladies. Leveret was selected by popular vote as the new Rose wine, as supplies of the current discontinued stock are down to the last couple of cases we were able to obtain in advance.

We are also going to stock Mills Reef Syrah as a local quality replacement for both the Australian Shiraz and Cab Sav, which were not selling in reliable volume leading to wastage.

Along with Pinot Noir, we will have an entire range of local wines from our Aongatete supplier including Mills Reef Reserve Pinot Gris (available by the bottle only at a special club price). Wines by the glass from the current Mills Reef range continue as normal.

Due to the increase in sales of Export Ultra and dramatic drop-off in sales of the very similar Export Gold, we will be trialling a guest tap to replace Export Gold in the near future. Expect this one to change a few times in coming months as we see what you are choosing to enjoy.

I have also added a handful of new bottle and can options for you to consider, alongside existing favourites. The intention is to give a choice while minimising waste, I'll keep a close eye on these options as we continue to manage stock levels prudently.

9 Hole Ladies
Yvonne Hoskins

On an extremely sunny, pleasant day for golf, our ladies played 'four colours'.  This was a team stableford game with each player choosing one of four colours and using their stableford points on pre-determined holes.

We had a winning team on the front nine and a winning team on the back nine. Winners on the front nine with a combined 21 stableford points were - Lyn Harrison, Jacqui Crossfield, Irene Hallam and Daisy Harrison.

Winners on the back nine with a combined 20 stableford points were - Bev Hansen, Janet Burmeister, Molly Dean and Sarah Campbell. Well done ladies, hope you all enjoyed the fun day.
