Captain's Corner
Daryl Muir

Thank to Colin Gee and his team of volunteers for their hard work turning the trees on 12 into firewood, it will be a great fundraiser for the Club.

With the good weather the course has continued to be busy.  I have had more than one complaint of slow play.  I would ask that all players be conscious of their position in the field.  Don’t just stay in front of the players behind also keep up with the players in front.  Slow play impacts the whole field.  Check the times on your card for each hole when you should be teeing off and do your best to observe these.

Also please be patient when a ball is lost by the players in front and allow them time to catch up their position in the field.

Remember to review the cart status when you play, i.e. staying on the path.

9 Hole Ladies
Yvonne Hoskins

After a very frosty morning - which required a late start - the nine hole ladies played Round 5 of their Shootout competition, and a nett haggle. Sue Smith came in with a great 34 nett, followed by Brenda Anson and Carol Holmes with 35, and on countback with 37 - Trish Frecklington and Dianne Mahony.  Well done ladies.

Our interclub team played at Tauranga against Fairview with good results and are currently coming first in the competition.  Keep up the good golf!

9 Hole Men
Spencer Tankard

Jack Frost jumped the gun on us and pushed our start time back half an hour.  It did give some of us a chance for a bit more of a lie in! Those that read their emails that is.

The day turned out beautifully fine and warm with barely a breath of wind.

A small group of noisy Kaka’s turned on an aerial display for those of us on the Back 9.

Today’s competitions were Round 3 of the Net Trophy and Round 3 of the Putting Competition.

Haggle Money was split between Front and Back 9’s with some consistently low Nets and some very sharp Putting requiring a few count-backs.
